Believe Me, You Don't Want It.

Believe Me, You Don't Want It.

A Poem by Mehak Mushtaq

What if I tell you that I'm perfect?
Beauty is what I breathe out - into the world,
I'm the pious disguise you can never unveil.
your saints reflect back the wisdom of my words -
Don't you know the moon?
Oh, yes, I am the sun.
Would you like to have a divine cup of coffee?
Something that kills all the imperfection - wait! It might kill you.
Your thought is the residue of the fuel burning inside my mind.
Your breath is my will,
your soul - just one of the flowers in my garden.
What did you think?
A garden full of flowers in itself?
Nay, you're just another organ in the holy body.
Oh, do I sound too mean?
But dearly beloved, you wanted perfect.
Here is perfect and believe me, you don't want it.

Unfortunately most admirers consider a perfect person as someone who’s perfectly malleable like a lump of clay or lead, a puppet perfectly willing to be changed into an assumption of what they consider to be bliss. A predator always admires his prey. Humanity hasn’t strayed very far from the jungle. It’s a power game.

each time i read one of your poems they get better, each one moreso than the last...i have never seen such quick growth in a writers skills as with you....amazing. part of this write really affected me, when you speak about changing for someone i have to laugh. when they want something about you to change, that is the first warning to dump them like a hot rock. i have learned my lesson. take me as i am or take a freekin hike! i love this write....perfect does not exist, it is a word created by man to describe the best of possibilities....this poem is perfectly perfect.

;) Thank you
sorry to say..im completly against how you have written this...you have been using the tongue of God to say such a poem since God only is perfect and only God's will controls our breath..since we eat, drink, and we need to go to bathroom feeling vemoting when we smell our own wastes, we can never be perfect..

So clever, I love this read...it made me smile and also think, which is not easy this early in the morning! You did make my coffee divine with this one....

'I'm the pious disguise you can never unveil.'

When we love someone, we tend to overlook their disguises...and there's no such thing as perfect...unless we're talking about your poetry!
