Tears In My Eyes

Tears In My Eyes

A Poem by Ennay
"

"Cause deep down, I know I’ll never write another love song, xause I’d have to think ‘bout you."

"
It's been a while since I invited you out on Halloween.
And I hate that I did that for you.
I didn't think you had the guts to come back.
But you do.

How'd I get to where you're fine and I'm the one that's a mess?
God, I guess-
That's the difference between forgive and forget.

Deep down, I can't stand being on that stage without you.
And deep down, I can't even sleep at night,
without my mind running back to who I used to call,
my best friend.

Now "see you again" feels more like a "goodbye."
It's so pathetic.
The way I still care about you.
It's something tragic.

You're reaching out, you try to call-
But I'm still recovering from the tears in my eyes-
And I finally forgot, what it's like to regret.
Back when you thought that we could never be friends.

Cut to static.
It's so hard to think with all the noise.
My head is spinning, trying to understand what went through your mind.
And I'm trying to hold on to all the memories that we left behind.
