Dreams of Tomorrow

A Poem by Ennay

Dreams of Tomorrow

___________________________________

I find myself searching,

In places you wouldn’t be,

Yet imagining you there anyway.

I haven't dreamt in a long time,

I didn’t know what to dream about,

Until suddenly you appeared in all of them.

I turn my pillow sideways and hold it as I fall asleep,

Imagining it were someone else,

Someone that actually cared for me.

I looked for songs,

Trying to find an answer to this feeling in my chest,

The aching that continues to grow,

And never leaves me.

What a concept..."I didn't know what to dream about" as if we could conjure up certain things to dream about on our own. To have that control would be so interesting. I hope the speaker may find those songs.
Touched by this poem.
