Treasons against truer lover Truth you’d choose to n’er discover

"
Another Line in Bitter Verse
by A.J. Derro

Hardly dealing with your hurting
Hard and callous, disconcerting
Dire needs will die or hide
In words from one who’s dead inside

Fill your world with pretty songs
To compensate for latest wrongs
Treasons against truer lover
Truth you’d choose to n’er discover

Kisses kept in whispers, coy
To trick you, sickened victim boy
Who’d never guess, except that friend
Suspect; suggest you bring to end

The fool’s game, less a fact than show
And final act and bow, and go
But leave behind a warning for
This other man who’s so damn sure

A poem and a song to prove
That needle slips its hold in groove
And vinyl scratches, loses face
As you’re made now to leave your place

Among her latest, and her last
A pretty face now put in past
Another line in bitter verse
Punctuated by a curse

A ‘B***h’ for ‘B*****d’, silly terms
To capture what the mind affirms
The heart has hated and denied
You wished this wretch to be your bride

You write her rightfully and now
Make mean amends to solemn vow
To keep in age and when in health
And in lies; hidden, planned-out stealth

And till the truth will do you part
Give rest to what she wouldn’t start.
