Prickly love

Prickly love

A Poem by Woody
"

hey, I can't help it if I was born silly.

"

The porcupines finally uncoupled

A stupid grin on the male’s snout

And the female happily snuggled

With a love story to brag about

The male suddenly started to rue

“It’s a business doing pleasure with you”

Your delightful little poem suggests that some people are difficult to love . . . I resemble this message. My prickles always get in the way of a smooth, loving flow! *smile* . . . Altho written with much playfulness, your deeper message is honed to a sharp point. I always love using natural phenomena to illustrate human nature.

A love poem that bristles with eye watering speculation. But surely, that was the point.

Loved it, Woody . I'm now going back to my bed of nails to contemplate it further

Cheers, Norman

You mean men think of it only as business? You surprise me, Woody and there was i thinking they're the real romantics! You really do turn facts and fun upside down... love it!

Ah, I get it: Don't get naked in a cactus garden. You, my dear Woody, were not born silly; you were born to punch lines!

thanks loads Rose. just being my usual silly self :)
You definitely added a smile to my day with this clever poem, thank you for sharing! I believe this should be hung outside court wedding offices, to show the true nature and what means being a (especially married) couple. So often the woman will imagine the fantasy or live it and think how she can brag about the 'perfect moment', where as the man enjoys the moment by trying to add some humor or slight touch of sarcasm. As long as no one gets...'prickly' about it, the ending is all in good fun, however the wonderful play with words in your last line "It's a business doing pleasure with you," ...just fantastic. Please keep writing!
