The Writing of a FelineA Story by Tyler EnglemanA descriptive paragraph from a cat's point of view. The rain looked dreary but exciting, the droplets must have weighed a thousand pounds splashing into the Earth with such force. It frightened me but had grasped my interest with such intensity that I got eager and started to twitch or shake in such emotion. I wondered why the sky was so sad and dull today when most days the sky shattered my vision and made me squint and frown with frustration. I wonder all day long, with great interest and readiness to explore. I wonder if these thousand pound droplets are warm or cold. Why can’t I go out there and feel them hit my body? It brings me great displeasure to tell you that I can’t feel these droplets because there’s some clear wall that confines me to this limited space in which I am kept for all of my days. These droplets cascaded down the clear wall as if they were racing their fellow droplets to see who could reach the bottom; only to reach their demise where they’d no longer be able to race. Life is kind of like that, we always want to get to the next stop only to, quicker than expected, be no longer able to ‘race.’ - The Writing of a Feline © 2014 Tyler EnglemanAuthor's Note
