Labels Suck.

Just a rant..

Not really a poem, more like a rant. You can disagree and all that just keep the hate comments to yourself.

 

 

 

 

I hate that we live in a world that constantly revolves around labels. Everything you do is labeled as something. Emo, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Pansexual, Prep, Hipster, Poser, Ghetto,  Freak, Skater, Jock, etc.

 

I've always wanted to live in a world where people can just be themselves and not worry about being labeled or judged. Like whats the point of a label? Why should a certain label determine wh oyou are? I think we all have the right to be whatever we want. To be as free as we intend to be.  Why live to try and fit into some category? Whats the point? Cause  i dont see it. 

 

Society's structure sucks. It limits us and controls the way we think and act. It forces us into categories and labels and half of us dont even realize that.

 

I believe that thats why alot of people are so close-minded. Cause they live for society and its rules, and they dont give difference a chance.  They havent beeen exposed to true freedom of expression. In all reality, we are not allowed to express ourselves to our full potential. Alot of us have so much potential but it is hidden behind society.

 

And i'm not gonna sit here and blame society only; because we as humans, are to blame as well. We dont bother to put in the effort. We'd rather just go with it, instead standing up and changing it. We complain so much about the world we live in, but most of us dont bother to put words into action. 

Be the change you want to see in this world. And yeah, that quote is over used, but its true.  Because think about it. And i mean really think about it. How many times have you complained and not done anything? How many times have you dreamed and hoped, but gave up because society said you're not goood enough.  So what if you end up failing at something? How the hell else do we learn? We learn from our mistakes and experiences. If you're afraid to take a risk because people say you're not good enough or you feel like you can;t do it, how are you really living life? 

 

Take risks, do something, learn, speak, Be everything YOU want to be. NOT  what SOCIETY says you have to be.
