My dearest daddy

My eye tears up,

 i start to cry,

as my father whispers his final goodbye.

My mommy is holding me back

stroking my head

as my father lays on his deathbed.

I am bawling by now

and everyone knows

my love for my dad

clearly shows

Illness is bad

Death is worse

It will happen to all of us

 Its a never ending curse.

My dad closes his eyes,

and fells into heaven

before i can count to eleven.

He is gone now

and i miss him so

Why, oh why,

did he have to go?

Death is also one of those things that can make us or break us. Sure, death happens, but it kills us to know that person is gone for good and that we can't do anything at all to bring them back. But as we learn to move on, we become stronger. Because of that effort to move on, we become better people and we learn to respect life just a little more than we once did.
