In Memory of Our Sweet Jasmine YouA Poem by Shayne PlunkThis poem is written for, and about, Jasmine You, bassist of the J-rock band, Versailles. He passed away on August 9th, 2009, suddenly and unexpectedly. He was an amazing muscian. There is so much else to say, but I will let the poem speak for me.Let the wings of Purity strip away your body, As our weary voices lift you into the blue sky. Our tears soak into your grave, Washing your body in sorrow. Your music weighs down our hearts, Binding our thoughts to your death. "Our beautiful Jasmine," We cry, pained and hopeless. Our cries follow you to the sky, As they reach your ears again. "I am still here," you whisper, Reassuring us, the ones who held you so dearly. You become the cool breeze on a summer evening. The beauty of the delicate rose on a spring afternoon. The moon's soft, guiding light on a dark, fall night. The sun's warmth on the coldest, winter day. Forever caring and compassionate, Our dear, beautiful Jasmine You. © 2009 Shayne PlunkReviews
