Chapter 1

Stevie lay asleep in her dark room. She kept hearing strange voices. The voices said to her "wake up! Go find him he's out there! Fulfill the prophecy and find him!' she woke quickly at the sound of the snake like voice. "What prophecy?!" she yelled, and it echoed. Wait where am I? She thought. "I'm not in my room anymore." she whispered.

She walked around trying to find a clue as to where she was. She saw a light, and she ran towards it. There she found an opening. "Yes I'm finally free!" she screeched.

"I thought you would never come out dearest." a strange but familiar voice said from behind her. 

She jumped around in a hurry. "What?! Who are you?! Where am I? What's happening?!" she blurted out in one mouthfull.

"I'm James, you're in Yeonbi, and we are going to fulfill the prophecy." he said in a calm voice.

"What prophecy? I was never informed I was in a prophecy." she said. He grabbed her and and pulled he close.

"We are to save Yeonbi. It is being destroyed by invaders." he said looking her in the eye.

"But why me? I'm far from a warrior! I can't even kill a fly.... And now you want me to kill some creature?!" she yelled

"Because you are the one of the prophecy Stevie." James said and slow and gentle voice.

"I would like to know what this prophecy thing is." she said stepping away from James.

"You see there is a prophecy Known as the prophecy of another demention, it states: that a young girl from the planet called 'earth' will come here to Yeonbi and help destroy our evil invaiders." He said in a firm tone.

"Oh...umm...but how do you know it's me?" she asked while looking at the ground.

"You match the description, and the spirits brought you here. It has to be you." he said.

"Oh, but I'm not ready to destroy some evil creature! I'm not trained in using a sword!" she screeched.

"Don't worry, you'll have plenty of training before we go into battle." he said.

"Mhmm, and you expect me to kill some thingy mabob?" she said throwing her hands into the air.

"It's a  Gorkon not a thingy mabob." he said in a calm voice "well I should probably show you where you're going to live for the next year." he said starting to walk down a hill.

"Wait? What?! A year? I can't stay here a year! I have a life, not a good one, but a life!" she yelled

"Relax, yeonbians have the power to freeze time. So as long as youre here the world will be frozen." he explained. Then he grabbed Stevie's hand and they walked away frome the cave.

You've got something going here. But, as I tell many, you might want to SLOW things down a little, and let your characters speak more for themselves.
Also, get us, the readers, into their heads more. Here, we don't see the fear in her very much. It's there, but if you really want to move us, you're going to have to show it. :D
