In My Absence

In My Absence

A Poem by Ender Mckenzie
"

My dear, please do forgive me, I need you to miss me.

"
My love, please forgive me,
For what I am about to do.
I must leave you alone, for now, stop knocking down your door, bombarding you with requests that you save me from drowning.

I must learn how to swim. I must learn to survive. I must learn how to act. Learn how to love better.

As it would kill me everyday that I don't make you feel me,
In my absence, please do miss me.

In my absence, please do reminisce us.

In my absence, please consider loving me again.

Do not get me wrong, for I will surely return. This, I promise.
You'd drown my thoughts every waking moment,
I'd long to see your face light up my phone.
Give me time, as I will give you.

My love, please forgive me,
I want you to miss me.
I need you to long for me.
It might hurt you, but to me it kills.
I trust that you won't forget about me.
Let me do this for us,
Let me do this for our love.

Author's Note

Ender Mckenzie
I think of this as more of an indirect letter to her, as it is a poem. I hope you like it anyways.
