distance

although i am not with you

i am thinking about you 

every waking moment

although i cannot see you

i am constantly imagining you in my head

wondering if you are okay

although i know it has been hard

you can get through it

i did

so can you

i hope you survive

because you must

you know it is not the end

since that was something you once told me

i know i will cry about you

since i am still weak

and i will always feel what you feel

i need you to be okay

because when i was not okay

you were there and you appeared strong

but now that our availability is limited

it seems as if we are both falling apart

and that hurts more than taking a hard fall on my head

but to be honest

that is what it feels like to me

you were always there for me

and you always cared and understood

we always had something to talk about

something happy or positive that we cared for

but now our conversations are limited

not only in time and length

but in dialogue, only to how to stay strong

i just want to let you know that i love you

i love you so much and i know that

you can get through

since i have

that means so can you

because to me

we are the same in almost every possible way

except for DNA

location and family

you were my everything

you are my everything 

you still are

and i honestly do not know

what i would do 

without knowing that you were out there

alive

and well

and hopefully waiting for us to take

that long trip around the world together

seeing all our favorite musicians

and just being the best friends we had been

through the internet

proving

that it does not matter that we have not met

because

we both know that we will

i love you so much

please be okay

Whats crazy about this poem is that for some reason I feel connected. I think we all do, their is a someone in our lives we all want to be okay, we all love and cherish. this is interesting .. it reads a little like a diary .. or prose .. i am reminded of the movie with John Travolta starring ... "Phenomenon" .. there is a scene in which he is acutely aware of how the root systems of trees are all entwined and connected ... communing with one another ;) i have people in my own life much like your poem talks about .. tho many miles apart i believe our thoughts and prayers keep us connected .. if you haven't seen the movie check it out! you might like it :)
