behind our eyes

into our soul

of our mind

something controlling us

our ids

can overpower 

there is a demon 

inside all of us

although we try 

to hide it

through our eyes

the gateway to our souls

hold many secrets

these demons inside every human

on Earth

Hell?

Hell is on Earth

we are living in Hell

we are far from being alone

who's the Devil then

Hey! Don't say that too loud. The pastor of our little store front church might hear you and
by simple association cast us both into the lake of fire.lol . He cast me there several
weeks ago for wearing clear nail polish and for trimming my eyebrows. Damn!

I am not an athiest. Nor am I very brave. But the idea of the Devil as hypothesis
opens instead of closes the idea of God as manifestation of mankind. But don't tell
nobody we talked....lol

First I will say I love Imagine Dragons - Second and more important - I love this poem. You write with a maturity far beyond your 14 years. This is powerful writing that leaves the reader much to think about.

I completely agree that hell is on Earth. There is so much wrong in the world it's almost impossible to pick one person to call the devil. Everyone has their demons, and some show it more than others. A very powerful and truthful write :)

This poem tugs at the thread of a truth a lot of people don't like to face; we're all capable of evil. It's a horrifying thought but your poem faces that and that takes some guts. The last line is a perfect ending as well, poetic in its meaning, hauntingly chilling in its idea.

"The Devil made me do it!" - how often have we all said that? Without our meaning to, we do or say something completely out of character, something really bad. And, yes, we are responsible for the things that "Demon" makes us do. Guess that's why society (and religion) has laid down so many rules to live by and punishments for not following those rules. This is a very fine poem (song), GS. I"m impressed. It sounds like you are older than your bio led me to believe or maybe you are just wise beyond your years. Very well done!
