Prologue

A Chapter by Ma'at

A man was walking along the Coast of Eptrya, just east of the country Ceyosia. He was a tall man, with sandy colored hair and sparkling blue eyes. The sky was grey and cloudy. A strong wind blew across the canopies of the trees, making them sway slowly back and forth. The ocean was a dark blue; angry waves crashed against the shore and touching the man’s shoes. A clumsy wooden dock continued a couple feet into the ocean, probably used for starry-eyed men and women to walk along, hand in hand, with their true love. The man strode towards the dock, admiring this strange contraption, for he heard a cry out from underneath the dock.
Wah.
Wah. Wah.
“There it is again,” the man said to himself. “Whatever may that be?”
He walked closer to the dock, ducking his head stupidly underneath the worn wooden planks.
The man angled his head, his blue eyes scanning underneath the dock for the source of this sound.
Wah.
The noise came from behind. The man spun around and saw a young girl, her age about 2 years, sitting upon the sandy ground.
She had short, shoulder length auburn-red curls blowing about in the wind, and her glittering green eyes stared up at him.
“And who might you be?” The man asked, bowing low to the ground so he was eye to eye with the girl. “The source of the sound?” He smiled.
“Wah,” the girl said.
She had a silver pendant hanging around her neck, sort of like a dogtag.
The man grasped the pendant in his hand and read the name engraved in it.
“Caiomhe.”
