Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time

A Poem by En.Ki

Wrapping my mind around all the words you've said

The things that came and went

The idea of you that I wanted

You promised to never be a lie

You're the symptom of this superficial masquerade

You drive around in circles, screaming who's to blame

You sacrifice your moments

For what you already have

I think I'll cut the cord

I have a life to live

What am I supposed to do

All the words I breath

Nothing ever seems to get through

for you

for me

for her...

Speaking around in rhymes

sometimes we have to say it's time

to remind

to believe

to see all that we can be...

without.

Casually we pretend,

represent and defend our lies

the demons burrow through

'till there is nothing left of you

it's true... abused... used...

we were tossed aside

You promised to never be a lie...

Your the symptom of this superficial masquerade

You drive around in circles, screaming who's to blame

You sacrifice your moments

For what you already have in your life

I think I'll cut the cord

We have our lives to live.
