She Says

She Says

A Poem by En.Ki

It's cold, but she spends her night time

cursing the sunlight

Defeated by the ever changing

world around her.

She begins to open up

Spreading her wings as if she was on fire

with words to comfort and conform

With hands to hold,but

They can't take the burn.

Open your eyes she says,

Close your mind, They want you to.

They carry on a legacy

That I can't conceive

A burden in which I can't bleed

She bends the night

To hide from the sunlight

Her wings beyond repair

Open your eyes she says,

Close your mind, you know they want you to.

Within her confines

I find the time

To climb her walls

Perched atop a milestone

So much alone

So far from home

With buried emotion

with avoiding comotion

Her knife to my heart

In her picture perfect moment

I became a memory

Close your eyes she says...

Open your mind, They don't want you...to
