Deeply bent and Badly Bled

Deeply bent and Badly Bled

A Poem by En.Ki

It's funny how this separates

Spreads like wildfire

To annihilate,

The inner pace...

A referendum

For this conundrum...

It is, without being said

Deeply bent

And badly bled

These thoughts,

That scream at me...

They can't save me from the past

Proof that nothing lasts,

No matter how open a heart becomes...

Displaying words and verbs in rhythm

Burned again in this cataclysm

The stars in my eyes…

I held onto this

No more lies…

If I despise the center

(I forfeit my apathy)

If I devise an answer

Will I like the mirror

The man staring back at me…

Deeply bent

And badly bled

These thoughts,

That scream at me...

They can't save me from the past

Proof that nothing lasts,

No matter how open a heart becomes...

It’s so far,

As simple as you are

Like stars burning right before my eyes…

A black hole with no surprise… inside

No matter how open my heart becomes…

I think one of the drawbacks to this site is its lack of designation for lyrics. Although I don't see that add an author's reference, that's what this piece feels like.
I often think that we should be able to see what others see when they look at us. Our own vision is often more harsh than what others see. Of course it may just be that the facade is well constructed, but often times I think it's not exactly what we intend out to be.
