Painted Black

Painted Black

A Poem by En.Ki

Hidden in the corner of a painted room

with my face painted black

I find myself in consequence

at second glimpse I see the lapse

gathered over the fortune teller

to see their ways

a path they choose

with wisdom they lack

with my face painted black...

I am the secured in my land

rumored to be the last to make this stand

I'd give up forever just to be an inch from you

this is my torment

my burden

I venture to the barren

the wasteland of my soul

rotting I see the confines

through this darkened mask

how can I rise above this city

above the timberlines

unchain me from my post

and lead me to relax

help me forget the past

with this face painted black...

Oh it comes

it breaks into the facts

it severs all of our division

it will be the thing that lasts

what a punch it packs...

this mask of black...

my face is painted black.
