Crushed By Your Innocence

Crushed By Your Innocence

A Poem by En.Ki

Crushed by your innocence

The draining,

Your doing and you don’t know

You leave us all for freedom

So I sit wondering about you today

Were you born again?

Were you drenched in sin?

Did you ever go away?

Sing your song of silence

Keep them sealed

You lips seem to tremble

And resemble the way I feel (Silent)

It’s a courtesy

An apology

Is it said when it’s not meant?

We can hold our heads up high

But a mask still covers your face

Secrets

An anthology

The thickest book of lies

We came to this place to be beside you

So you could see her grow

How was I to know…

We’d be drowning in your undertow?

It’s a courtesy

An apology

Is it said when it’s not meant?

We can hold our heads up high

But a mask still covers your face

Crushed by your innocence

Your will to believe

That your motives are perfect

That you’re strong

Not weak

Every time you gain our trust

Every time there’s progress

You fold again

You drink your sin

This all begins again…

I’m so crushed by your innocence

Or at least that you think you are.
