Selective Memories

Selective Memories

A Poem by En.Ki

I find myself digging deeper
Dodging fears
Reliving my paranoia
What happens
When it happens?
I never want to know

Why can't I stay here, and not face it
Sing this same song
I've grown so found of the way it tastes

Can't I hold my expression
above my suppression
a desperation
I lay bare the thoughts of my mind
I struggle with what I have
But I love every second...

To live without, once a seeming fantasy
A fallacy, in which I believe...
That I know...
I can do without...

why can't I stay here, and not face it
sing this same song
I've grown so found of the way it tastes
What happens,
When it happens
I never want to know
