A perspective on Alex's side of things

(Alex in 3rd person, Mya is not narrating)

Alex was sitting at home in his room, confused by Megan’s words . . . taking Mya home. Something about it made him want to be around her more (Mya). She seemed different. Good different. A little more mature, maybe more content and chill. Something he wanted her to be when they were together, but didn’t want to change her for him.

He remembered everything he liked about her from the start; her sense of humor, her sarcasm, her laugh, her smile, her modesty, her touch, her passionate love, and her kind heart. And now knowing she’s taking a mental beating to make up her behavior to him; it was something he couldn’t ignore.

True as day are the flaws easily seen in this, she meddled in his life and he NEVER gets back together with an ex. But, for some reason, a high power threw those flaws out the window as if they never existed.

It pounded against his skull, because his feelings for Mya were strong, but his old saying were fighting as hard as his feelings. He wanted to give her the shot to show him who she was now, but the mind-set he’d lived with made him doubt.

He went into the bathroom and popped a few aspirin.

“Woh, bro, easy on the pills or you’ll become a druggy,” Matt, the triplet brother, mocked as he walked in going to the toilet. He started his business. It was beyond unlike Alex to ask Matt for his opinion on anything, and he’d ask his cousin, Kendall (male), but Kendall didn’t know Mya and Matt did.

Matt finished, “Ah, too much homework?”

“No. You ever thought about getting back with an ex?”

“Eh, once, but she had absolutely no interest.”

“Who?”

“Kinsey. She likes some guy that she’s going to college with next year.”

“Oh.”

“Why? What ex are you thinking?”

“Call me crazy, but Mya.”

“Bro, really? Mya?”

“Well, a lot’s happened . . .”

“I’ll say. But, bro, be careful okay. Exs are like sloppy seconds.”

“Hey. You dated Kinsey after me. Who’s one to talk?”

“Just saying.” He walked out.

So, maybe he could give Mya that chance if Matt could give Kinsey the same chance. And if Matt has enough heart to do that, Alex easily could too.

The thing was, would she accept? Stupid question, of course she would. The only thing was, how to do it. He got an idea that was clever and vague enough to work.
