A Message from MidwayA Poem by Lavery the LibrettistMidway Island Crisis of albatross birds
In the North Pacific Ocean,
On the island of Midway. Home to a colony of albatross birds, Numbers depleting day by day. A diet based on plastic, Is feeding their young and old. But why this has been happening, is a story left untold. Bottle caps, brushes and lighters, Consumed by this vulnerable species. Carcasses adorn the golden beeches, A harsh reality in a world overseas. A struggle for survival, The reality of our time. A disregarding population, A tale of future times. © 2013 Lavery the Librettist |
