For What You See

For What You See

A Poem by Lavery the Librettist

For What You See

For what you see
Yes that's me.
And that is all
I ever can be

Take a look
In fact look closer.
I am what I am
Nothing fake, not a poser.

So maybe say hi
Despite what you've heard.
Make your own judgements
Not based on spread word

Maybe I'm not, all I could be.
But in spite all of that, yes this is me.
Honest and loyal, outspoken is my flaw
Strong morals and values, passion so raw.

So before you stab that knife in my back,
Think of yourself and the morality that you lack.
If there's a problem, please respect me and tell me
So I can become, the best person I can be.
