KittyA Poem by Lavery the LibrettistBased on the Diary of Anne Frank
I write this diary,
Etched with ink. So many things to say, Where to start I need to think. A young jewish girl, Barely in my teens. A classroom filled with similar kids, No true friend amongst them it seems. Some family flee around the world, To escape the german takeover. A yellow star adorns our coats, Our every move watched over. But i hope one day, at the end of war, I'll become a successful writer. So everyone will know about, the reign of Adolf Hitler. But until that day, i will confide, In my dearest friend thats kitty. My thoughts and feelings, from my heart, on the invasion of our home city. © 2013 Lavery the LibrettistFeatured Review
