On Your Graduation DayA Poem by Lavery the LibrettistFor Emma Louise
Your graduation day is finally here
A day of pride and all round cheer A new dress is donned, hair sitting pristeen, Killer high heels, nails painted and clean. So now has come the time, to pick up ur hat and gown Hairpins at the ready, noone seen to frown. All the graduates are nervous, hopin they wont trip, Some silly boys in the audience, waiting for them to slip. So here you are, in the wings, Waitin for your name to be called out loud, Mum and dad are waiting eagerly, so happy and so proud. Emma-louise Gilroy, a familiar celeb calls out, You start to walk towards him, with both your hands held out. You walk across the stage, a flawless strut is seen, Your parchment is presented, so smooth and so clean. And then the moments over, a chapter and book has closed, A master of the numbers, a career is now proposed. For all of your hard work, sleepless nights and early rises, For those that are as smart as you em-lou, ther really are great prizes. © 2013 Lavery the Librettist |
