Philosophies of LifeA Poem by Lavery the LibrettistDefining the meaning of life
A quote, a rhyme, a line from a book,
A lyric in a song, a speech, an outlook. So many meanings, philosophies through time, So many words, this life we try to define. Spiritual or religious, the author will decide, How to depict the concept of this world, so many, so far have tried. An inspirational outlook, positivity to gain some strength, Many generations, reminisce with experience at length. Traditions and rituals, passed down from years gone by, Family values, shared meanings, together we try, To exist and survive, thrive and achieve, Finding a true love, we hope, we believe. All of our destiny's, a fait left unknown, No man can guess it, not in a book or a poem. But what we all can ensure, is the type of life we'll lead, Full of goodness and greatness, is all the fulfilment we should need. © 2013 Lavery the Librettist |
