Paper Roses

Paper Roses

A Poem by EmpressPoetess

A palm of scarlet roses held,

to sooth the hurtful words befell

beloved's tender self I hurt

I liken myself low as dirt

with weariness but not regret

reflected in my eyes beset,

upon reunion's end result

my aim to silence pain's tumult

But paper roses fall apart

and images do stain and blur

when dampened by the tears of heart

that fall down from the eyes of her.

I know this is not quite a Sonnet because I'm one stanza short, but so be it.

It is maybe no Sonnet, but it sings and stand on it own, brilliant, work! Deep, rich, painful and true... each of the three stanzas have a deeper meaning, you fullfill magical with your quill!
