Becoming

Becoming

A Poem by EmpressPoetess

He has touched me, here
and there, inside myself
he opened my closed doors
peeled away my dead layers.

his voice has stirred my waters
his hands mixed my fire with ice
I shimmer as sun kissed dew
I melt as sun warmed cream

I lay my head gently there
upon his strong shoulders
and inhale essence of man
and serenity surrounds me

his hands, warm and sure
hold me, lift me, mold me
and I am soaring across seas
and shores of warm sand

I taste berries upon the air
lying beneath trees of apple
and cherry blossom sweetness
as my delicate lady wings flutter

with a cry of pure surrender
I shed my cocoon of innocence
from his touch of tenderness
I have awakened, I have become.

It amazes me how much love can transform the world... truly make it something that looks and feels and tastes like a wonderland, though nothing externally has altered. Your poem is such a dedication to that profound essence of love's life.

I am so glad I read this - one of your bet poems, beautifully crafted and holding the emotion with poise and delight... It is very romantic and the feeling of secruity and pleasure suffuses the description of the man that lights up your soul and makes you melt... I especially iked the images of the fruit.. and the idea of the emergence from the cocoon.. A poem of blessings
