Reflections

I stared into water, reflecting on the past

reliving those moments that gave me joy

those little things we left along the way

whispers and laughter still linger in this room

and somewhere near my sentimental heart

They still remind me of us, of then

when our love was the main course

that once filled our hearts and souls

and satisfied our every need

 

But these memories, like tiny crumbs

we dropped along the trail of letting go,

they’re only fragments of another time

now, stepped on and forgotten

the finale of a wonderful feast...of us.

Very romantic and yet it's heartbreaking. All the words that combine together comes together in a beautiful poem. The poem puts a smile to my face. Though it seems to me to be bitter sweet. To remember memories and smile and then we have to let them go.
