The sweetest memoriesA Poem by EmpressPoetessIt was the falling rain in spring That sweet scent that lured me Beneath a quiet willow that wept Her tears a soft touch upon my face Her song a new melody of charms
Lead by early evening’s light My heart dipped into romance And knew what tenderness was When fingers warm and strong Gently grasped my trembling ones
It was the cooing of the dove’s call Within the bow of a grand old oak When I tasted the sweetest kiss And was held by the strongest arms That I became assured of true love
It was then that I lived to remember The sweetest memories for which to live. © 2010 EmpressPoetess |
