My muse is.........A Poem by EmpressPoetessEnrt in the " Reviewers no forced rhymes contest"Contemplating Tossing things and words up in the air Musing states of gray mixtures of brine I hear the weeping willow weep, but why? Dark surfaces with silver linings abreast
Contending Why keep at it, this paper penning? Restlessly tinkering with what you saw Or heard beneath the mind’s layers Of salted tidbits and dainty bouquets
Compelled But darkness won’t let me hide My light must shine undaunted still For the entire muse is a sweet, sweet bubble That no killer causes can puncture Nor chilled gale winds sweep away
Contentment I delight in the fact I own such ingénue No need of resistance to its temptations Let flow the rippling verses through time Let spread, its colors across life’s silken shroud Burst out with song and praise for the muse! For the muse is the soul, and my muse is all soul! © 2010 EmpressPoetess |
