A Forest Ado

A Forest Ado

A Poem by EmpressPoetess

They tread upon a forest green

In twilight mist and dawn between

Just beneath a whippet’s calling

dew drops shimmer ‘fore their falling

Whispers from the night life din

Evoke the sense of mystery’s sin

rousing flurry in the masses

Searching blindly as time passes

While her they follow fearlessly

Into the dark where dangers be

All astute to brave the dreaded

By her promise to be wedded

Oh Forest, forest, dark of night

What fancy tale this, in twilight?

Done in secret to outsiders

This mating colony of spiders!

You are such a trickster...

Did you know that some species of female spiders eat the male after mating with him?
