A torrent of sadnessA Poem by EmpressPoetessSubmitted to the MAKE ME CRY CONTEST.
Oh dreadful fear! What must I do When your smile is no more, When I can no longer hear thee? The timbre of thy voice, my love, Has quieted the storms of my soul That lain dormant in me, till thee
Alas, my torment cometh close! The void of feeling not thy embrace But vengeful flames of arid winds. Brokenhearted, must I see nights, Through hot tears of my longing?
How will thee hear my cries beyond? What other should wipe my tears, When only thee owns my love always? Wretched and evil, this thing death! Oh! My wish to wrench thee free from it, To shield thy soul with fierce guarding!
But these hands are mere soft flesh No magic rests within , but love Alas, the unyielding dark awaits now To steal away thy heart forevermore. © 2010 EmpressPoetess |
