I open the curtains a little wider
the wind whistles swiflty by
grazing bare, dried tree limbs
My hot chocolate's gone cold
why can't I see you coming?

Maybe the time is wrong for us
frowns bristle my unsure brow
the faint smell of cinnamon,
sends a wisp of memory
I try to pick out the nice ones
the ones that made me smile
they seem fewer somehow

sometimes I give too much
or is it that I care too much?
but then again, what measure
is the perfect measure of love?
the sky is overcast and grey....

I waited here lastnight, too....
you promised me you'd be here
the moon shone bright then, too.
you promised you wouldn't hurt me
I wonder where it all went tonight.
Oh well.....atleast the rain came.
