My captain of love

My captain of love

A Poem by EmpressPoetess
"

Entry in the On the sea contest

"

My captain of love
never did come for me
I kept a daily vigil
by the the cold, misty sea

Tales from the old days
of the brave men in arms
one day he'd come for me
and be my Prince of charms

But no such hero
ever showed up for me
I tossed the welcome roses
by the cold, angry sea

Lost is my hope now

for a perfect life
how can I dream now,
of being a perfect wife?

The ships sail out, now
away from my world
away from these cried tears
of this sad lonely girl

My captain of love
never did come for me
but I keep on looking
hoping one day to see

that ship called Gladness

coming in from the sea

with my Captain of love
waving from out at sea.

The final verse is "adorable"...however the ship called "gl;adness" may never come from the "sea"...rather it is already there inside of you...great work
