Rejection's reflection

Rejection's reflection

A Poem by EmpressPoetess

I dare to face rejections chill
While yearning for your gentleness
I knock but echoes answer still
 While pleading for your forgiveness

My passion’s bent to see once more
Him that my heart is panting for
From rejection I shield my face
And turn away in jilted grace

Remember love, its tender parts
When love in us took flight
Should pain be master of our hearts?
And shield love from our sight?

This one works really well, with its gentle flow of thoughts, even though the rhythm gets a bit bumpy - maybe intentionally. I like the structure and the tenderness... and you chose a beautiful image to enhance the words... *smiles*

Reflective, indeed. This poem ponders very well, reaching out and making us think.
