Door to the past

Door to the past

A Poem by EmpressPoetess

I ventured outside my sense of reason
Looking for those dreams I’d lost
And went slipping between shadows
Of past memories and lost reflections

I walked among the lovely meadows
And tripped across unanswered questions
Where bright spots of laughter use to be
Now dreary fantasies dance joylessly

Among the cold and dusty hues
These signs I perceive to be lessons
I do well to listen for the clues
And heed the timeless directions

I dared to lend my tender heart
To past reflections once more
It was foolishness on my part
The past leaves us no open door

Very nice write - It's full of deep meaning and honest words. That's the best kind of poetry.

^-- That really caught my attention, I can really relate to that. Great job!

It's true you can't go back - you can only learn from the past! Written with feeling and simple charm

So true~All we have from the past are only memories both some sad, some happy
and the furure is unknown~ we can only live in the present moment and
try to understand what it's all about~well donE!!
