The silence of tears

The silence of tears

A Poem by EmpressPoetess

The silence of tears
That the eyes shed in pain
Speaks louder than the screams
Of my abandoned heart

My vision of love is shattered
And tossed into dark shadows
Why must I still cry with you near?
Does not loneliness belong to one alone?

The cold has wedged between our hearts
Where love once resided in tender warmth
I stand alone now, with you by my side

You’ve chosen to lock away your heart
Leaving me on the outside looking in

How powerfully this expresses the ache of rejection, the loneliness of unrequited love..
