Mistreating me

Mistreating me

A Poem by EmpressPoetess

Written for The Albert's cafe "Fun with form" Contest

"

Mistreating me,
I’ve been long doing.
Mistreating me
I’ve acted foolishly
My actions are now showing
I was not in the knowing.
Mistreating me

Mistreating me,
allowing you to give pain.
mistreating me
I'm setting me free
I'm stepping out of the rain
into the sunshine again.
mistreating me

It's a bit like an incantation... and the refrain makes the point effectively!

Well don't know much bout the style of poem but I do love this poem, the stepping into your your and finding inner strength, an inspiring piece to anyone in a hurtful relationship.
