All alone I am, with just my fantasies
Feeling the pain of love newly gone
Walking the beach where we met

Stepping into her tides for a cool change
Hoping to wash away this unrequited ache
How long do I have to pay the price

for my foolishness, my open heart
Everyday, my strength comes back
Reading your letters is a saving grace
Though you’re no longer here with me

I feel you here, and I remember love
When it was a treasure worth saving
The tender embraces, the long slow kisses
Nights when all you wanted was to

And days when my comfort was your goal
