Desperation

Desperation

A Poem by EmpressPoetess

Sometimes, the universe isn’t vast enough,

To hide from the darkness that impedes

Through my fearful soul, taking refuge

My heart aches longingly, not for romance

But for new eyes, as not to see the replay,

Of you leaving me, walking away,

My heart's not big enough to carry

This huge mass of pain i have within

Is there a pillow to absorb so many tears?

The ocean would envy their vastness!

No reason or circumstance can explain

Why I’m being left here, alone with my fears

Trying to find some semblance of peace

While filling the spaces left by you

With frivolous games and plans of

no more substance than thin air

Perhaps I may write an ode to anguish

Descriptive of this torment I depict

That way I shall turn the tides of fate

And draw you as the one in desperation
