Spontaneous Attraction

That "Bang" of first time passion

 

Can this be love that I feel for you
Is this emotion I feel real and true?
I only came here tonight, to dance
But instead I’ve found romance
 

An added bonus for a night of fun
Suddenly I feel my life has just begun
Of all the eyes in the room tonight
My eyes locked with yours & took flight

 

Across the room I swear I could feel your touch
Maybe I wanted to be close to you that much
When you finally asked, my heart did a leap
The warmest smile and twinkling eyes

Were tokens of passion I wanted to keep
Whirling me in your arms and singing
The sweetest love notes in my ear
Turned this night into a fantasy veneer

At the moment your lips touched mine
I knew we'd crossed over passion's line
I know Cinderella must’ve felt like this
Lifted into soft clouds of sweet, sensual bliss
 

I don’t need to count any future time
my heart tells me tonight will be sublime
I won’t think of tomorrow, or forever
Only tonight, as we share such pleasure

Wow! I never thought in all my life that love at first sight or spontaneous attraction really existed. I was shocked when at 43 years old it happened to me and I had no explanation for it. You have absolutely nailed the emotion and feeling of the experience. I some cases the feelings just will not leave and tomorrow brings immense longing. This is a fantastic poem well written!
