Dreams of Eden

Dreams of Eden

A Poem by EmpressPoetess
"

We still dream of God's promise of paradise

"

 Slumbered senses near dawn
blue light of winter morn
casts topaz shadows about
soft waterfall cascades down

Whispering on misty breath
down lush green mounds
sending crystal trinkets
of tranquility abreast

Inner thoughts arouse
visions of Eden revised
where perfect life began
interrupted by sin

Ripe fruit temptation
traded our perfection
life still seeks its start
the beginning of time

Love never shaken
mankind never forsaken
dreams of Eden
lives in hearts

Where hope is cradled
a treasure still sought
by all mankind
and HIS promise still

stamped by a sign
peace be realized
A rainbow forever
And so, Eden lives on

Wow Empress, this is an incredible write! I think the title is perfect because this piece read like a beautiful dream. These are my favorite lines:

Ripe fruit temptation
traded our perfection
life still seeks its start
the beginning of time

Love never shaken
mankind never forsaken
dreams of Eden
lives in hearts

Excellent write!

Eden - The beauty of nature combined with freedom from sin and love.
This is a wonderful write. It has great imagery and your words flow like the water in the waterfall in that picture.
It has a calming effect, and as Michael said, the graphic helps the poem. Beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest!! :)

I love this, its brilliant, soft, tranquil, desirous, and beautiful, the words take the heart to a place where dreams abound and peaceful hues paint existance, the graphic was a nice touch as well, this is classic in many ways, the form also had a smooth effect, I'm still there.
