WILD

WILD

A Poem by Leah

Wild things we are,
Tossed on lakes of green
Like little boats at shore,
We never grew our wings.
Beat the drums and dance,
Screaming to the wind,
We bet our fate on chance,
We'll find our voice again.
Packed in two by two,
A fire in our bones,
It's burning me and you,
Flames lick the walls of home.
Listen for the chase,
Heartbeats, skin, and blood.
We'll tear apart this cage,
Dispel your words of dust.
Forests are our home,
Mountains call our name,
Exploring the unknown,
We'll never be the same.
