Waking Life

Waking Life

A Poem by Empirik

No science in the world can explain why our two join
Looking with all your diversity and adventure intrigues my loin
Feeling the magnetic nature of your mature desire to live with real fire
Ignites a sensation like no other, true to see through my veins
Flowing forward thinking
How unreal this is
You in Oregon and going somewhere
Me moving toward something and living history
Twelve years of dynasty coming of age critically
Alters my ambition to seek your tradition
As daft as I am for you
Doom lingers in my salvation
With experience to prove a pernicious rendition
I keep you close, but only close enough to call my own in heart
Private beside my alert mind traveling along the internet super highway
Telling me one thing and being proven another
I must run for cover as this storm is great
Unseen for many years
Quick as twenty seconds of courage
Living for you my all
To love at my personal ball

Moving swift to bring my innervation to her attention
Coming out of the twilight and letting it be known
I was compelled to say, "You are beautiful"
From another physical realm linking my today
I see you as only one could
Hard as love would only happen once in a lifetime
Think about it all the time with such shapely echoing vocals
True leaving behind the low
Planting a new type of grass to grow
It is proper I ponder you
Yonder always in wonder of your thought
Taking care of business, sure, but nothing more could be brought
As I see the missing part of me
Taking silent daily steps to be with thee
Missing the train, hoping you will see
I meant to only help you be
From a distance you are free
Waking up with a stretch, coffee, and pray
For that day when you shall opine, "I am ready"
This can go on a lifetime, but it shouldn't
It's no bother to me as I am willing to lay in my grave as He
Who loved you deeply above all
Across the seas
Not faltering, Inept
Loving you for who you are

Growing old together bound lately beside one another
Aging in time and physics is a loving mime
For String Theory, Fractals, Torus energy and more
Never forgetting the "Problem of the Soul"
Free will is restricted to us
As never seen before and ready to break out
The history of God reveals "faith" is the way about all the clout
When in doubt, "cut-it-out"
Buddhist, Muslim, Catholic, Christen, Gnostic, Agnostic, or Science
All travels from the same place in your heart
Thus the feeling of us will never be apart
I love you more and more each day
Even when you push me away and come back the next day
Saying I am pushing you away today
It all glows in the dark as the Devil walks
But nothing makes me love you more than holding your hand on our own personal dock
Never losing it's freshness and I can't be without
At last hearing you talk and taking an elderly walk
Down memory lane, as long as we are still sane
You are my everything
Pulling all energy in
Crying out loud for thirty minuets
Knowing I would die to be with your limit
Lay down in bed each night tucking you in my head
I think I am crazy in love with you and it can only be said

I love how lyric this gets in the middle section and that it was easy to read (even considering the length, which is a mighty feat to have a long and interesting poem in my opinion). I see nothing stagnant in the lines, constantly moving and flashing to keep the reader's interest; it doesn't wander aimlessly either which I feel is another difficult task in composing a long poem! My favourite lines were:
'Aging in time and physics is a loving mime
For String Theory, Fractals, Torus energy and more
Never forgetting the "Problem of the Soul"

What an interesting concept and very, very well put.

I'm home in your words, and home in general. Your words illuminate the core of two who feel more than the world could understand. It's an connection, of past, presence and future, and maybe afterlife. "Waking life" is a perfect title to put these three very well crafted pieces together. I bow for you, as I am speachless again for the strength and power your quill is speaking of. I can only cry with you, as you're my soul, and I feel you telepathic as no one can. In this big world they call it, we are just little, but remember, above that, we are dust even more, but that's the beautiful part, there shall gravity decrease and love increase, as we are not from here... but from another dimension! Thank you for this wonderful ode, to the one you love. :) I enjoyed it fully! As more shall do....
