Drawing the Curtains

Drawing the Curtains

A Poem by Empirik

Calmly communicating confidently what I want in you walking barefoot
Gauntly gesturing genius and I notice instinctively
Smelling your creative intentions replies before my eyes
Without hesitation from my subconscious and furthering the scope I comprehend
I lend an arm out to ease the back-bend perspective
To let live with hope and joy forgetting the doom in your forte

It is more than I can say for you to be swept away in astral illusion
Or metaphysical projection as I am right beside you in dyes we wear
The clothes made by us in the depths of our regions
Not by some foreign country with a mass of technology
But by us in truth and eternity like late adulthood

In the mood for compassion following a lesson hosted by unknown
Factors building daily drinking tea and letting be
It comes to me
We are free
Not in the place of thee
But in the eyes I see

Glowing through the dark without a mark of deception
impromptu my reception on one key at a time
Keeping on the measure of desire to break away and be with each other higher
Growing gloriously in the cosmos or exploding extensively in the galaxy
It is all planned for us in balance as we
With blood flowing in time with frequencies mixing together to make a-new project

Powerfully producing life from death
beginning again across the boundaries of expectation
However pushing forward with a conviction assuring the soul
Filling the hole with molten passion and Earthly desire
Closing the windows
Drawing the curtains
Ending any and all empty assumptions

I love the subtle internal rhymes and how it assists the flow you have going. I do also like how the middle stanza shortens at a distinct turn, it caused a curiousness in me for the ending. The rhythm speaks much of Portishead, I am wondering if you were listening to it as you wrote it? Or perhaps it was on your mind (since it is linked)?

The best phrase in my opinion:
'forgetting the doom in your forte'

Also, third line second stanza did you mean to say cloths or clothes? I figured it might be a typo, though that could just be ignorance on my part.

A very lovely piece that was a true pleasure to read.

The vocab...the imagery is brill! I agree with Elisa's comments below. This is what poetry should be. The ending is gorgeous and lyrical:

Closing the windows
Drawing the curtains
Ending any and all empty assumptions

It just flows off the tongue..great stuff!

This one, left me speachless... you should pass me that movie you where talking about, cause I love the mused ambience felt by this wonderful piece. Portishead, you know I love it! deep dark beats, rhytm on top... smooth voices.
Your writing highs each time more and more. I can't get enough from it! my soul... you drawing the curtains, I open them whitin springtime. As I loved this write the fullest! no words, can actually enter here better, as you already knew them I told you... ;) X 100!!!!
