A RavenA Poem by Empirik
In the bedroom alone feeling sorrow for a loved lost soul
Searching the room with remembered tears Wondering if she will ever reappear Dark magic full of fear In the night sky clouded from the stars with no Moon and the Sun yet to come There is a baby boy young inside waiting for love to be done Wrapped in hides of warm animals killed Given a path to bring back health Freeing men from coercion and allowing women to fly As the fire burns high they dance above Masking an image without reality Lacking truth An illusion by a sorcerer Steeling the Earth Thou art now a new birth Hidden within that baby boy To return to that almighty joy Seeing the stars twinkle beyond and a Moon bow to lean on So that the Sun may scorch the Earth with hope That on that day she changed from a bird to a boy for all to see Sitting in their window like a toy Caring over us with wings spreading across virtue Protecting attack True in her place and where she is going, yet Not sure when another worm will lure her out Gone for a while Facing society in a race Wanting to slow down Watching a distant family hold their crown Then finally flying away, way up into the light Everyday we should pray for living Safe by feathers Together is more Looking deep for lift-off with that one…and sore Elevated above the gifts given to live Is the love of a bird who saved the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars For me it's all I can do to cherish this heaven Tell stories to my young children Watch my Raven fly So that when they awake with string and beads I can make the dream to catch all their bees In the bedroom alone spreading love to the sorrow found souls © 2012 EmpirikAuthor's Note
