Day DreamingA Poem by Empirik
A dim light illuminating a cheek
Orthodox rose resembling a peach Color correct and slightly fuzzy irresistible to the nose Standing erect The sound of hardwood cracking under feet Moving toward a risk Backed by a song singing everything the tongue cannot Plumb in the mist wondering Should I, or should I not Softly touch her grace before me and bind the great book bestowed upon us Blowing of the dust Coughing and waving our hands…about to touch Then stopping our eyes centimeters apart Top lip reaching for the bottom To wear is right there Looking up Finding a pupil to meet Two souls in heat Shaded by the sun and sweating beneath the shelter in the stones Deep in time and pressure forming our true identity Strength unmatched Beauty attached Door unlatched A nudge Falling forward Lips collide A deep breath Squeezing so tight light bursts from loins Coins fall to the floor As our dreams are ever more © 2012 EmpirikAuthor's Note
