Badger LakeA Poem by Empirik
Wildflower whispers sway with the lakeside sword-grass
Calming a place to your knees Listening The quick short pitter-patter of a squirrel running on a dead log carrying a pine cone larger than itself in it's mouth It crosses your path When it turns and looks You see home All along your way Subtle voices Soft hands Smooth movements Natural harmony A breeze...only here Walking gloriously down a translucent trail Pure joy Ducking gigantic down Doug Furs Searching for game Original Earth Resting on a waterfront tree Reading an influential book Working together The Blue Jay sounds the alarm Doppler squawking elevated over your left shoulder and closer to the right Passage granted Light foot sinking in the marsh A Bald Eagle diving the damn for fish Summer Sun I am an animal God's animal Planned spirits Growing each day Finding your way through the deep loving forest The wildflowers whisper,"hushhhhh." © 2012 EmpirikAuthor's Note
