Grandmother Moon

Grandmother Moon

A Poem by Empirik

Sacred is she who looks upon me at night
A silvery gift of insight bespoken silently
Raising whisper hairs glowing on the trees
Listening intently and balancing the seas
Sweetly singing upon us
Smiling silver lining
Full of wisdom and orbiting bravely
An integral part to life and family
Always there even when not seen

Loving

Spoiling with wrinkles adorn
So that we all may have a chance to look
Through those eyes guiding our lives

This was beautiful in terms of imagery...I'm a moon fanatic, and I've never seen her portrayed in quite this fashion. This is multi-layered, multi-faceted, and yet strongly tangible in terms of grasping the idea. There is no great mystery here, just the beauty of the words to settle in upon and sigh. Well done.

I failed to mention that the word is "Love".

It says a lot about a piece of poetry when I can read it once and comprehend it all. I'm TRUELY amazed by your talent and skills. There are words I've often warned other writers to not use, though, and you used one of them in such a small piece. Here, however, you've managed to sit it bravely atop a pedestal, showing us that the most universal words can have the greatest power when they are surrounded by words with unequal meaning. (I hope that made sense...lol.) This has changed me in a few areas--one of them including a bit of closed-mindedness which I strive to avoid. I thank you greatly for sharing!

I recal reviewing another piece by you many months ago, though I can't remember the piece exactly, I remember it having an equally strong impact on me. And just for the record, I recognized your name and face which is a big plus.

Wishing you luck in a prosperous future,
--Chris

Ok, after we spoke, I couldn't resist... my partner in art, what you just have echoed is more than brilliant to the world, to us, to me, to you and her, to everyone... this piece touched me deep, and you know probably why ;) The clip speaks volume... This is one of your best so far, intelligent, serene, YOU, and artistic, I've missed reading you, but I came online, to be a witness of this. Till soon, when you're there, and when we can give some spice into new art! You're brilliant love, thanks always for posting your mind, and for us to enjoy it! My best wishes, across the ocean. This was truly fantastic, and it gets a 100/100 from me. Always watch la Luna, and you're safe! ;)
